How to be more productive daily
Being productive is about so much more than just getting work and chores done. It’s about achieving your goals in life. You have a dream, right? Something you love, something you want to achieve?
It’s incredible how much time we actually have. When used effectively we can accomplish our goals and still find time to rest. Rest is an important part of our lives. On the seventh day, God rested. I believe it’s a principle we should always keep in mind. That being said, let’s discuss how we can manage the time given to us to accomplish what God has set in our hearts to do. Every day is a gift, let us make the most of it.
How to be more productive daily
1.) Plan it Out
If you do not have a daily planner purchase one and use it! If you don’t keep track of what going on in your life you’re going to lose control of your life.
2.) Write down the goals you want to accomplish everyday
This is good to do ahead of time. Take that planner out and make a list of what you want to get done. Check it off. Seeing progress is a great motivator. If you fall short at first don’t kick yourself in the head. Stay the course
3.) Block out your time
In your planner, schedule your time. Schedule time for your projects. Schedule time for your rest. Do you have a favorite TV show? Block out the time, and then when it’s over move on to something else. It’s like being in school. We got soo much done because we had to keep a schedule.
4.) Dry Erase Bards are your friends
A dry erase board can help you keep a visual reminder of your goals, upcoming deadlines, and progress made. It’s easy to to to grab a marker and write down something new, check off accomplishments. They are cheap and easy to put up. Just don’t lose the marker.
5.) Get up early and read the Word
Wake up early, get dressed, even if you don’t plan on going anywhere. Eat a healthy breakfast. Grab a coffee, or two and take time to read the word of God. Let everyday first begin with God. Starting your day with God puts everything else in perspective. It invites God to be in your day with you and that makes all the difference.
6.) Be mindful of your health
Our bodies are a gift and like everything, need the proper care. I am not a huge health food freak, however, I do know the importance of keeping my body happy. Little things like adding healthy snacks or drinks in place of a soda or doughnut here and there can go a long way.
7.) Go on a walk
Walking can help clear our minds and get the body going. Being still not the healthiest and when you work at home chances are you’re doing a lot of sitting at a desk. Try to go on at least one walk per day. It doesn’t have to be long or fast. It will help you to stay focused and give you a new perspective and is a nice excuse for a little break. bring some tunes and enjoy.
Clutter can cause chaos and chaos can lead to stress and a chaotic mind. Keeping the clutter down will allow you to be better organized, to keep track of your belongings, and to help your mind feel more at ease. Clutter and mess are both distracting and cause anxiety. You will feel amazed at how better you feel when your environment is not overwhelming with non-essential clutter.
9.) Keep a candle on hand
Scents can be very uplifting. It can raise our moods and help us feel more creative and inspired. Being productive is a large part a mindset. Keeping your environment inspiring will help keep your mindset positive. Certain scents can have a calming effect such as vanilla and lavender. Lemon can help concentration and Jasmine my personal favorite, helps fight depression. Utilize scents to keep your workspace uplifting.
I have a separate article about the helpfulness of journaling. Journaling can allow you to track everything in your life. You can see what takes up too much time, what foods affect your health what makes you happy. Journaling is a creative outlet as well. It allows you endless options. You can decorate them, draw in them. Journaling can also help you see your accomplishments. Seeing and being aware of your accomplishments is the greatest motivator. It helps you see your work in not in vain and can inspire you to reach even more goals.
Remember, who you spend your days is how you spend your life. If you are wasteful with the time on the day you will be wasteful with the years of your life. Don’t set goals to unrealistic which will only discourage you. Be realistic and optimistic about everything you do. Take time to breathe and see everything clearly. You got this girl!
